That's why I haven't been updating much lately. Various life stuff. Sigh. Well here are some pictures and random tidbits of our life.

Anyway... life stuff.

Ben took Bekah to the planetarium last week. Bekah fully enjoyed herself. Moon, Mars, Mirrors. What a day!

Bekah is getting so big she can do so much more now than just a couple months ago. Potty training is slow going, but going nonetheless.

She says so many words now, she strings sentences together, she asks and thanks and begs. She's becoming this little person! What happened to my baby girl? Where did she go?

Man I'm feeling old today. An old momma.

Warm February Days

Today it's almost 60, so Ben took Bekah to the park. First, she had to get adorable. Pigtails and polka-dots are the perfect accessory for any day at the park!


Then at the park, its time to ride the toys. She's getting so big I can't even believe.
Windy and warm! Bekah posed for pictures as she played. Ben loves taking her to climb all over the toys at the park.
It blows my mind to see her go and go and go. Where did my baby go?

BEKAH DID IT!

She peed in the potty! For the very first time!

Ben sent me this picture at work of her doing her business. We're so very excited! February 17, Bekah's first successful pee!

She got double potty treats, and called momma at work to say "Momma, I peed on potty. Yeah."

I'm so proud!!!

Our Anniversary Date!

We had our anniversary date Friday, and it was awesome. We went to cheesecake factory. I got all dolled up, and we had so much fun! We just goofed off for the first time in a long time.

The flower I had in my hair fell out, but made for a cute picture.
I felt so very cute, but at the end of the night I looked a little worn. It was so worth it.

Our Third Anniversary! :)

So Three Years. Yikes! I can't believe its been three years since ben and I tied the knot. Feels like a week, feels like a decade. I'm just so glad I get to spend every day with someone I love so very much! I looked it up, and the third anniversary is the Leather Anniversary!
Supposedly, it speaks to the durability of our relationship. We made it past paper, cotton and now, at leather our relationship begins to become hardy and weathered. Romantic huh? So as Leather is the traditional gift, ben got.... Leather shoes! They are tres sexy.

Ben got me (finally) an actual wedding ring. Since we got back together I'd been using my opal birthstone ring as my wedding ring, and now... I have this sucker!
Pretty, no? (btw... its not a diamond, its cz. 1/10 the price, just as sparkly, and if I ever lose it I won't cry!) I love it and am so excited to have a little bling on my ring fing (ha ha i had to keep the rhyme going...)

Then today, ben and bekah brought flowers to me at work! I was so surprised. In stomps bekah in her boots and big coat (its snowing like a mother outside...) and brings me these gorgeous flowers. (Please ignore the messy desk around them!)
Friday night we're going out to dinner to celebrate. I wanted the Cheesecake Factory again. We had such a blast for my birthday... I know its not the most romantic fancy place, but I am TOTALLY excited to go there!!

Wow... three years! In that time Joe came out, Michelle dated, and got married, Tony got married... jeez. I feel so freaking old!

Mr. President

I'd like to take a moment from the family blog, and type a little thought of my own.

Today is one of those days, that when I'm old I'll be able to say I was there. My mother always talked about watching the moon landing, my Grandma about President Kennedy being assassinated. I had teachers who reminisced about wars starting and ending, police states and famous words.

When I was 15, two planes crashed into the World Trade Centers. Just after my 16th birthday we started a war that we are still in today. I remember the numb shock as I watched that happen, and I thought... someday this will be in history books. This tragedy will be documented and honored, and I will remember where I sat the day the towers fell.

Today, I'm finding myself feel similar feelings. Today, the world is changing. When Barak Obama came up with the slogan "Change" for his campaign, he didn't realize how that would rally people, or just how much change he was going to cause.

Tonight, as I watch the first black man in history be sworn in as President of my Country, I know I feel pride, joy and excitement for the years to come. I have great hope that this man can repair the divisive anger that this country has recently become so infected with. I have so much faith in this man I've never met.

This day, history's book is starting a new chapter.
