Garden update

Well our garden has gone from a tiny tidy patch of earth to a crazy wilderness of tomatoes and mustard greens!
Our tomatoes haven't bloomed all summer, and now... yikes! They are covered in blooms. Too bad all these green tomatoes won't ripen before the freeze. Hopefully we'll get some at least. The leaf below is actually a mustard green. We thought we'd harvested them all, then BAM we got these elephant ear sized leaves.
One of our few red tomatoes. Pretty isn't it?
There is the wilderness. that is our garden. the huge plant on the right is one tomato, the other is behind the chairs, taking over that part of the garden. There are some pansies under there somewhere... man it got a little crazy!

All Tuckered Out

Since Bekah started sleeping in her big girl bed, she hasn't been sleeping as much during the night. She gets up about 4 (which we just LOVE...NOT!) and then kind of rests until 6 when she gets up. Because of this she's been falling asleep all over the house, poor snugga!
I layed her on our bed and put on a movie, and she fell asleep before Ariel even got legs! This next picture creeps me out, She sleeps with her eyes open! Look closely, you can see it... yikes!
My poor sleepy baby. Hopefully she'll get used to putting herself back to sleep when she wakes at 4. Instead of playing with toys!

Handmade Socks from Grammy

Bekah got a lovely present from Grammy the other day... Handmade socks and a headband. If anyone knows my mom, they know she loves knitting. And socks are her knit of choice! Bekah looked so cute in these, I had to get some good pictures of her sporting them.

Big-Girl Bed!

Here is bekah in her new bed! :) It's all very exciting! I can't believe she's already big enough to be out of her crib. Yikes! No more late mornings for us...

Eating and Playing Dress-up!

Bekah has been wanting to feed herself with utensils more and more lately. It's always a feat of bravery on my part, because the mess afterward is almost always bath-worthy.
Bekah loves playing dress-up. Especially shoes and purses (she is SO my daughter). This was her in footy jammies trying to walk in Grammy's heels. It was adorable. She kept waving and saying "bye!"

She loved the flash goin off on the camera and kept clapping every time I took a picture. What a ham!

Weekend Update :)

Welcome to the Accu-Weather update, with your local meteorologist TONI SCOTT! *enter cheesy graphics, dorky music and picture of me with my fist under my chin*

Sorry, all this following the hurricane makes me feel like quite the weather person. Anyway, we've heard from Jody and from John and Nancy, everyone is fine.

John, Nancy, Ivan and Catherine are all in Louisana, in a hotel and fine. They aren't going back for a while, until the power comes back on etc.

Jody and John Paul braved the storm, and are now just cleaning up the mess. What a mess to clean up!

On the homefront we've got some good news! Bekah slept in a big girl bed last night! After a two-hour struggle, she finally collapesed on her new toddler bed. She slept through the night and woke up this morning happy as a clam.

I can't believe my baby is getting so big! She talks, she walks, she socializes, solves problems and now... sleeps without the cage!

Next big step? Potty-training! YAY!

I don't like Ike!!

So here comes Hurricane Ike. We're worried. Very worried.

Ben's sister and brother-in-law are stuck almost right in the hot zone of this storm. The projected path has the storm hitting less than 20 miles from their home. They're inland enough to not have to worry as much about flooding, but the winds will be bad.

They sent their two kids with Ben's parents in their car to Baton Rouge. Now they're stuck, and with no mandatory evacs in their town, there are no buses or anything to get them out.

Please, send your thoughts their way and ours. We're hoping to hear from them again tonight, but as the storm is falling this evening we may not hear from them until Sunday.

Here's hoping this isn't another Katrina.

Bobbie's Pin up Pics

My sister Bobbie (she goes by Marlene now :P) auditioned for a charity pin-up style calender for breast cancer. She had me take some pictures for her, and they turned out SUPER cute. :) I may post some more on here.

But what I really wanted to show you was the glog I made. Yes glog. Its my new obsession. Its like a photo-blog. And its so much fun. Don't worry I'm still blogging too! Here is the glog I made for her!

Go check it out!! http://jernni.glogster.com/glog-874/

Well Baby!

What a couple of months we've had at the Scott house... I can't believe how much things change, and how quickly it all seems to go!

Rebekah had her 18 month checkup (at 20 months...) last week, and she's doing well. She's really slimming down again, 25th percentile now, She weighs 24 lbs. 6 oz. (only about a pound more than her 15 month checkup) but her height slowed way down, she's in the 40th percentile for height. Last time she was 90th percentile. Isn't it funny how they grow?

This time Ben got to come along, and I was really glad her pediatrician got to meet him. Last time I felt like he was kind of guilting me for her being so thin (looking at me she should be 90th in everything!)

He saw Ben in the room and said "Father?" Ben nodded and then the doctor launched into this blurb about kids at this age being so unpredictable in size and weight especially when the parents are so different. Last time she was showing my genes, now Ben's. I just smiled. I knew she was fine last time I came in. With a momma like me, and an elf of a dad like Ben, she's bound to be thin.

Just wait until she's taller than her dad. LOL!

Hillbillie Baby!

Bekah wanted to play in the sprinkler, so ben put an old undershirt on her, and she was happy as a clam! We kept calling her our hillbillie baby!
She looked so adorable running around the yard like that, I couldn't resist snapping a couple shots.

I got Bekah this little baby stroller at a yard sale last week for a dollar. Best buck I ever spent! Now she walks it around the house, putting her little baby doll inside, covering her in a towel and walking around cooing. This is her talking to the baby...Then she makes a u-turn in our (messy) kitchen. What a funny kid! Oh, there's my purse!
